Started in 1992 by Fred and Wendy Parsons, we are a family owned and run business spanning three generations, specialising in processing wild local caught prawns into prawn cutlets and prawn meat. Wendy made a huge name for herself, known for being one of the fastest prawn peelers in Australia. Even appearing on Master Chef as a special guest for seafood in 2013. 

 

In 1999, chef Stephen, Fred and Wendy’s son, also came on board, and his wife Carly followed in 2005. They opened a second shop on the Southside, specialising in locally caught seafood as well as cooked fish and chips. We always pride ourselves on looking after the locals with great prices and the freshest cooked prawns daily. Fred and Wendy retired in 2015, handing the reigns to Steve and Carly, and now, with their son Jayden joining the team, NQ Prawn Cutlets and Wendy’s Seafood will continue serving Cairns for many years to come.

Fishing Shirts


All our fishing shirts are made in Cairns from 100% polyester. From kids' sizes all the way to 4XL. 

 

Long and short sleeve shirts are $50.00. 

 

Singlets are $40.00.
